Welcome to Wychall Embroidery
My latest works will appear here as I complete them.
I thought I ought to get these designs uploaded for your perusal before Summer arrives again. I won’t do any excessive waffling as I am sure that you will be able to recognise what they all are. Some are going up as decorations for the season, others are being distributed as Christmas cards to saveContinue reading “Christmas is coming….”
In my previous post (in March!) I said that lock down had left me busier than ever. That certainly hasn’t changed and, along with “I’ll do a blog post tomorrow……” we have reached the end of November. What?! How did that happen? Could be something to do with the sunny weather drawing us out onContinue reading “Procrastination!”
I thought this lockdown malarky was supposed to leave people feeling bored? I don’t seem to be able to get around to doing what I enjoy, there’s always too much else demanding my time. However, I have been able to get a few sessions on my machine so I have some new designs to introduceContinue reading “Where does time go?”
Actually, it was an Ice Cream Weekend. Saturday I stitched out a delicious ice cream cone, jam packed with vibrant flowers. As we can’t be together, I sent a picture of it to my Daughter who immediately placed her order. Hence I spent Sundae stitching out another Ice Cream Sunday. Or was it vice versa?Continue reading “Ice Cream Sunday”
Well now, the last few days have been a deviation from norm in that Hubby and I have been trying to fulfill a commission for a Football Club logo. As we haven’t done any digitisation before it has been a pretty steep learning curve. Hubby purchased Embrilliance Stitch Artist 2 and set about learning toContinue reading “Starting From Scratch.”
Yes, it’s been a while since my last post but the machine hasn’t been idle. Firstly, I decided to stitch out a Victorian Birdcage in free standing lace, to go with my castles. It may be small, at under 4 inches tall, but it still took a massive 187,000 stitches, although all in one colour.Continue reading “It’s been a while….”
Happy Easter everyone. A bright, warm morning here in sunny Birmingham UK so let’s celebrate with a lovely joyous Daffodil. 33,000 stitches and 7 colours gives such a realistic and beautiful bloom that I will certainly be stitching out more of them to make a nice bunch. I’m hoping they might attract the butterflies. InContinue reading “Happy Easter, World.”
I’ve had a lazy day today, so far as embroidery goes. With the lovely sun and warm temperatures that we have had today, the garden beckoned. So it has actually been anything but lazy! However, I promised you a pic of the Butterfly that I stitched out yesterday so here it is…. 27,000 stitches andContinue reading “A Lazy? Day”
Stitching was slow for yesterday as my machine threw a wobbly. The needle threading mechanism failed to fulfill it’s duties which prevented me getting started. The old eyes are not suitable for manual threading so Hubby had to get his toolbox out. Not a pretty sight to see my lovely machine spread in pieces acrossContinue reading “Trials and Tribulations!”
After yesterday’s post where I introduced you to freestanding lace for a castle design, my daughter was straight on the phone saying that she wanted two for on her mantelpiece. So that has kept the old machine chugging today. They look effective with the LED tea lights in them though…… I initially tried to beContinue reading “Defend the Castles!”
Rather than just stitching out pictures, I decided to add a little bit of variety to my repertoire. How about stitching a free standing castle? The number of stitches that the machine lays down leaves the finished article quite thick so here is the result of lots of stitches on a dissolvable backing which washesContinue reading “A little bit of variety”
